Recto: "drizzly weather // pine // oak // Ambulence [sic] // Shouting // Band playing // guard // Sheridan dark blue suit // Sheridan's dog a great favorite // Crook wars a common Black hat blouse light blue pants very light hair // Major Forsyth Sheridan's staff."
Verso: "Election Scene in the Army of the Shenandoah Gen. Sheridan and Crook depositing their votes at the 34th Ohio Regt Crook com'd 9th corps - The sketch of Gen. Crook is from life & I think a good characteristic drawing - he is some 5 feet 11 inches tall Sheridan is three inches shorter - Crook has a small riding whip under his arm, a continual habit with him while riding - the both deposited a Lincoln vote - the band played 'Hail to the Chief'."

Vertical and horizontal folds; loss of paper at all corners; rips along top and bottom margins; four glue stains on front; ink at lower right corner.
