Verso: "'Glendale Church' is 4 miles from Malvern Hill - and was the scene of a desperate battle in 62 - & a day previous to the battle of the latter place - within this cemetery are deposited the remains of what union soldiers can be identified from the battle fields of White Oak Swamp - Glendale Church or Fraziers [sic] Farm as some call it) & Malvern Hill - also come from Harrisons Landing about 3000 bodies and within this yard - Mr. S. Hibler & J. Newcomb superentend [sic] its erection - to these gentlemen I am indebted for favors - The Anniversary of these battles will be around about the 25th of June - would it not be a good idea to devote a page to these cemeteries and the Gaines Mill ruins also Glendale Church? the cemetery fence encloses 2 acres of ground."
