Sherman will leave Fayetteville and strike across the country to Warsaw on the railroad running from Wilmington to Goldsboro at which place he will form a junction with Schofield and then proceed to invest the latter place. He will have two bases, one from Newberne and the other here. The men are working on this road night and day and I shall probably be with Sherman and Schofield in a weeks time // Yours, [Signed] Joseph Becker." Sketch of chickens? banjoes?
