Recto: "The men in the boats had ther [sic] blankets or overcoats rolled like fig 1 belts & cartrige [sic] boxes- getting out of the boats at low tide they had to wade up above their knees they carried their guns over their heads-the line of boats were towed in by the disabled gunboat Winfield Scott. This landing was made a sunset on Nov 7th."
