Bailey // Camp Sherman is situated near Glenwood about one mile northwest of the Capitol on a gentle rise of ground with a clear running brook bordering the East of the grounds affording excellent opportunities for bathing and cooking purposes. The regiment consists of about one thousand rank and file and are [sic] under the strictest discipline and are without a single exception in excellent health and spirits awaiting anxiously for marching orders. The uniform consists of Black felt hat Blue Blouse, red shirts, grey pants and black overcoats. They are armed with improved muskets and fully equipped for service."
