Verso: This cemetery embraces 5 acres and will be when completed a part of the people's cemetery, it is subjoined to the latter. 568 feet is its length, breadth 336. In the centre is oblong divided into four angles by a walk in the center of which will be erected a monument. In these four angles are to be buried the unknown. The different states are to be represented by the squares. At present 750 bodies are interred - 3000 bodies are expected to repose there within a year, gathered from the battle fields within 12 miles. It will be completed within 12 months. The scheme originated among the ladies of the south. 4000 has been subscribed. It will require in all 10,000 to complete it. Mr. Crum is the trustee, from whom I received the above information from him."
